Because our lives are so busy, we are often on autopilot and as such don’t even realize that we are constantly receiving feedback from those around us.
Do you ever notice that people are withdrawing from you (this could be mentally, physically, emotionally, or even spiritually)? Have you ever paid attention to how those around you are reacting to you?
While being aware of that can be a good thing, it can also be extremely triggering if you have unhealthy mental habits. To find out if you have any unhealthy mental habits ask yourself the following questions:
- Are you an obsessive thinker?
- Do you overanalyze your decisions?
- Are you a worrywart?
- Do you second guess yourself?
Once people realize they have unhealthy mental habits, the big question is HOW DO I GET RID OF THEM. As with anything, if you want to replace something that isn’t working with something that is, you need to get rid of the old to make space for the new. That logic doesn’t just apply to tangible things like furniture and clothes. It also applies to habits. If you want to make room to develop a new HEALTHY habit, you need to be prepared to get rid of an old unhealthy one.
With that in mind, this week I invite you to decide what is the one unhealthy mental habit you are willing to let go of? That’s it. Just pick one mental habit that you are willing to try to part ways with so you can make room to introduce a healthy mental habit to replace it.
I’d love to hear what unhealthy mental habit you are challenging yourself to drop. Send me an email ([email protected]) and let me know what you decide on and how you plan to go about doing it.
It might not feel easy but just remember:
You can’t make room for the new unless you get rid of the old.
BE more kind to yourself.
BE more compassionate.
Be more forgiving.
Be more loving.
Remember, you are a Powerhouse.
