I am so excited to share the next 4 part series with you. It is called Pay Attention To Your Patterns.
I’m a huge believer that when you pay attention to the patterns of what you do that work for you, they are completely repeatable.
The same thing is true with the patterns of the things you do that are keeping you stuck. We are all guilty of doing the same things over and over again and yet expecting different results.
The foundation of all of the work that I do from leadership coaching, and keynote speaking to team retreats, are my Four Rooms Formula (Mentally Fit Room, Emotionally Fit Room, Physically Fit Room, Spiritually Fit Room). I learned about these 4 rooms from my wonderful Indigenous friend Clyde who shared with me that in their tribe, in order to own your power, to step into your purpose, and feel confident and resilient, you need to step into each of these 4 rooms every single day.
This week, we are going to focus on your Mentally Fit Room. Over the course of the next week, pay attention to some of your mental patterns. What are some things that you find are a theme for you? Is it that:
- You tend to go into that negative self talk and turn up your Inner Critic when you are really tired?
- You tend to spiral when you are meeting with particular people and join them in their fear / negativity / blaming?
I want you to really pay attention to not only the trappings or the things you are doing that are not serving you well, but also to who you are with and when it shows up. I strongly encourage you to write it down.
As a leader, you’ve got so much on your plate that often you are focused strictly on just getting through the task. Again, I invite you to:
Pay attention to the mental patterns that you have with regard to your successes and your positive thinking, as well as to the trappings that may happen when you are tripping yourself up.
Success always leaves a clue.
I’d love to hear what is working for you. I also encourage you to invite your team to do this exercise as well.
Remember, you are a POWERHOUSE!
