Have you been asking for help lately?
That’s the theme for the fourth and final week of Mental Health Month.
We know that:
- Right now retention is a serious issue
- The Mental Health crisis continues to escalate
- Burnout is the norm right now
I know from the clients I work with that they are truly stressed out and the more people who jump ship, the more responsibility gets heaped onto their plates.
What if you decided to ask for help?
Whether you hire someone like me to come in a do a team retreat or you hire someone like me to come in and do one on one leadership coaching with your team so you can retain them by investing in them.
Where in your life do you need to ask for help?
- Is it around asking for support with the household chores?
- Maybe it is by bringing in ready-made meals?
It is so important that we ask ourselves that each and every day. So guess what your homework is? That’s right.
For the next seven days, I invite you to ask yourself daily:
Where do I need to ask for help today?
Maybe its in delegation? Maybe its in saying that you can’t do something because you’ve got too much else going on?
When you ask for help, you end up feeling more connected don’t you? When you don’t ask me for help, you rob me of the expeirence of pouring in to you and supporting you in a way that perhaps I had not thought of.
This happened to me just recently. I have a friend who was really struggling with something going on in her marriage. I asked her if she wanted to go for a walk. While we were walking she had the quiet space to tell me what was going on so I could actively listen. And so in that case she was getting for the help from me.
If you want any more information on asking for help, please go to my book, The Powerhouse In You: How to lead with greater resilience, courage, and confidence,
And remember, YOU ARE A POWERHOUSE.
BE more kind to yourself.
BE more compassionate.
Be more forgiving.
Be more loving.
