I am so excited to share our next series with you. This month, we are going to be looking at Powerhouse Healthy Habits For The Fall.
I don’t know about you, but for me, it is easy go slip back into the hold habit of saying things like:
“It’s easier if I just do it myself”
“I know they are busy”
“I don’t want to bother anyone”
For some people, like me, it can be difficult to ask for help.
What I’d like to say to you is that moving into the fall, it is so critical that you TAKE THAT TIME TO PAUSE. Sanity is in the pause.
In this series, I will be using my book, The Powerhouse In You: How to lead with greater resilience, courage, and confidence, If you, or anyone on your team doesn’t have it, it will say that it makes a great way to kick things off for the fall (it also makes a great Holiday gift for anyone on your list).
For those of you who do have, take a look at page 65, Setting Healthy Boundaries.
Having clear boundaries will give you the energy and confidence to explore more of who you are and what opportunities you’d like to engage in. Owning your power as that Powerhouse leader starts with getting honest about what your priorities are.
YOU NEED TO KNOW WHERE YOU BEGIN AND WHERE YOU END!
If you are doing everything from photocopying to running errands for the coffee room, to taking care of HR issues to taking care of other things, what happens is that it waters down your role. Since it is also your job to teach others how to treat you, people are now seeing that you are wiling to do it all.
In the beginning, when the hustle was on and major changes were happening, I think that jumping in and being part of the team is really critical. However, as a leader, it is really important that we have defined goals. We need to know what our yes’ are and what our no’s are.
On page 66 of The Powerhouse In You: How to lead with greater resilience, courage, and confidence, I ask some questions that I think may be helpful.
Is it time to review how best I can serve?
How is this commitment serving me?
What does my heart say?
If you could change one thing about the commitment what would it be?
Who can help me with this?
What do you need to be thinking, saying, or doing differently to get the result you want?
Moving forward, my invitation to you is to take that pause and really have a long close look at your responsibilities. This gives you the chance to say things like “let me get back to you on that” or just to reflect and ask yourself some questions like:
Who is responsible for this?
Is this something that I truly need to do?
Is it something that can be delegated away?
I’d love for you to let me know what’s been helpful with these beautiful healthy habits.
Have yourself a beautiful day.
Remember, YOU ARE A POWERHOUSE.
BE more kind to yourself.
BE more compassionate/
BE more forgiving.
BE more loving.
