I am so excited to bring you our next 4 part series. It is all about de-cluttering! De-cluttering your mind, your emotions, your physical being, and your spirit. Spring cleaning isn’t just for cupboards and closets.
This week, you are going to de-clutter your mentally fit room. Whether you use the lens of a leader or of a team member, it is so important that you take this time to de-clutter. Spring is the time of year when you start to de-clutter your space at home or in your office and it is a great opportunity to ask what is serving you well.
I love to use use the lens of an Eagle’s Eye View. So what does that mean? In this situation, it allows you to look down and ask:
What thoughts end up tripping you up?
What is making you feel bad about yourself?
Where are you creating a story that doesn’t exist?
I have been doing so much work lately with keynote speaking, team training, team retreats and one on one coaching. The common theme that I hear from those that I am working with is that they feel like they have nothing left to give because they are all shelled out. Maybe you feel the same way.
What I’d like you to do over the next 7 days is to write in your journal. While you are doing this, you should be mindful of what thoughts are you renting space to in your mind. What is your thinking? The more that you can be intentional about what your thoughts are and stop the ones that aren’t serving you well, the better off you will be. Your whole body, mind, and spirit will thank you.
So that is your homework. I’d like you to take time to write in your journal what are the thoughts that are serving you well and what are the thoughts that are not. Then you can de-clutter your mind from the thoughts that are not serving you well so you can create space for New Beginnings.
I’d love for you to share this with your team. A great way to kick off your next team meeting would be to ask your team which thoughts keep tripping them up and need to be spring-cleaned from their mind. This will curb overthinking, help them to stop robbing themselves of their joy, and put a stop to undue stress.
Have a beautiful day.
And remember, you are a POWERHOUSE.
